Gastric bypass is also called Roux-en-Y is a type of weight-loss surgery that involves a small pouch from the stomach then connecting the newly created pouch directly to the small intestine by the way to loss excess body weight with follow some diet.

Procedure for Roux-en-Y

The surgery usually takes several hours. There are two components to the procedure. This is a endoscopic and laparoscopic technique, the surgeon cuts across the top of your stomach, sealing it off from the rest of your stomach.

Next, the first portion of the small intestine is divided, and the bottom end of the divided small intestine is brought up and connected to the newly created small stomach pouch. Then your surgeon may test for leaks with a dye study or an upper endoscopy.

You may stay in the hospital for 1 to 2 days after the surgery and continue to tall your doctor about what are the diet should be followed and what are the physical activities need to be done.

Continue for this diet at least 2 or 3 weeks, after you can take low fat foods. This diet helps to get a better result. Most of the doctors is advice to take some nutritional diet as followed.

Multivitamins

Take some more vitamins after this surgery it gives a better result for you

Calcium supplements

You may need to take 1,500 to 2,000 IU vitamin D and more than 1,000 mg calcium daily.

Vitamin B-12 supplements

It will help to prevent your bone fracture after this surgery.

Iron supplements

Iron supplement is preventing for anemia. You can take 50 to 100 mg of iron supplements
