One of the most common forms of treatment offered at hospitals is intravenous (IV) administration. An IV administers a fluid or medication directly into the patient’s bloodstream.
Typically this is one of the first things the nurse will take care of once you have been admitted to the hospital. The fluid is contained in a small bag on a stand so it can drip down easily.
It then travels down a tube, goes through a needle that is penetrating the skin, and makes its way directly into the bloodstream. An IV pump regulates the amount of fluid that comes out of the IV bag.
Vitamin C IV Therapy for Cancer
Recent studies have shown that vitamin C IV therapy can effectively treat many types of cancer when used alongside traditional chemotherapy treatments. Here’s why it works.
Vitamin C reduces toxicity levels from chemotherapy
Chemotherapy uses powerful drugs to attack cancer cells. Unfortunately, these drugs can also affect normal, healthy cells, sometimes causing side effects like fatigue, nausea, trouble eating, digestive problems, hair loss, and more.
Vitamin C reduces toxicity levels in patient body. This can help you tolerate a higher dose of chemo. In other words, IV therapy lets chemotherapy drugs attack cancer cells but protects the rest of body.
Vitamin C has anti-cancer properties of its own
Patients may have heard that vitamin C is good for your immune system. Several studies also show that vitamin C can actually help your body fight cancer too.
When administered at the right concentration through an IV, vitamin C can target cancer cells without harming healthy cells.
Effective Intravenous Therapy For Various Treatment
The first system compromised with illness is often the digestive system. There are many common reasons for digestive disorder such as dietary sensitivities and medications.
IV therapies bypass the digestive system and allow for full absorption of nutrients, amino acids and herbs administered directly into the bloodstream. There those nutrients can help the digestive system and other systems of the body heal.
Athletes
Intravenously administered glutamine after a game or training session can speed recovery and restore function to lungs and muscle fibers. In contrast, many athletes are given high doses of Arginine a legally compliant and naturally occurring amino acid that helps the body to produce more growth hormone to prepare for game season.
Detoxification
Patients with heavy metal toxicity and fibromyalgia can benefit from Chelation Therapy. After the therapy we will supplement with higher doses of nutrients to ensure replacement of minerals that might have been taken out along with the toxic metals. Detox is also a great way to kick start a weight loss program.
Neurological conditions:
Patients with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s can benefit drastically from IV therapies that incorporate glutathione. A major intercellular antioxidant which increases dopamine levels and improves motor function.
Asthma:
Magnesium administered intravenously helps reduce the inflammatory effects of asthma to provide long-term relief. A nebulizer with glutathione and other nutrients may be administered to heal the lungs, as IV therapies work at the blood level.
Diabetes:
Patients experiencing diabetes-linked neuropathy have had feeling return to limbs and better regulation of insulin with the administration of Alpha Lapoic Acid, a naturally occurring antioxidant. This is especially effective when combined with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Expect During The Procedure
A doctor must first determine the type of fluid you need for treatment, as well as the amount and the rate at which it’ll be delivered.
A nurse will then disinfect the skin over the injection site. This is often on your arm, but could be elsewhere on your body. The nurse locates a vein at the site and inserts an IV catheter into it. It’ll sting a little when it goes in, but after that there should be little or no pain.
The nurse then adjusts the IV manually or with a pump to set it to the correct rate of flow. Someone will check back regularly to make sure you’re doing well and that the IV is delivering the fluid correctly. If there are any problems with the flow, it’ll be adjusted.
